Stand up and be...a target market

When was the last time you saw a gay or lesbian couple featured in a network commercial? How often do you see an ad for men's underwear that exploits the male figure? What about homo- or bi- sexual positivity in mainstream advertising? Yeah...we thought so too.

To be clear, this is not an ad campaign. This ongoing web series creates, spoofs, and highlights products that could do well with a queer slant or that would appeal to a market otherwise invisible on network television. Along the way, we hope to point out a few other "trouble spots" in marketing, like the skewed gender roles, racial imbalances, and other areas that could use some work.

After all, if you really want to create change in how the public thinks...maybe it should start in the supermarket instead of the senate.
